How to book a hair appointment without calling

Booking the hairdresser is one of those errands that gets put off again and again. The good news is that many salons now run on booking apps, and reserving takes under a minute. For the rest, here's what to do.

Booking apps (the easy way)

First, check whether your salon is on one of these. You pick the service, the stylist, the day and time, and get a confirmation on your phone:

  • Booksy. One of the most widely used for hair and barbershops.
  • Treatwell. Hair, beauty and wellness, with real-time availability.
  • Fresha / Planity. Also very common in the sector.
  • Instagram. Many small salons handle appointments by direct message; the link or number is in their bio.

Search your salon's name in the app or on Google: if it works with one, you'll see a booking button.

If your salon only takes phone bookings

Plenty of long-standing local salons don't use any app: you call, or you drop by. If calling is exactly what you'd rather avoid, MIRA can make the call for you. You tell it the salon, the service (cut, colour, whatever) and when suits you, and it books the appointment and confirms it back to you.

To make the appointment go smoothly

  • Be clear on the service. A cut and a cut-plus-colour differ in time and price; say which when you book.
  • Book ahead for Saturdays. It's the first day to fill up.
  • Cancel if you can't make it. Cancelling in time keeps you in good standing.

FAQ

Which app is best for booking a hair appointment? It depends on which one your salon uses. Booksy and Treatwell are among the most common; search your salon's name to see which it works with.

What if my salon isn't on any app? Then it's usually a call or a drop-in. If you'd rather not call, MIRA can make that call for you.

Can I choose my stylist? In the apps, almost always. By phone, just ask when you book.
